A wash routine that keeps glass in service

Detergent, a rinse that sheets, and a rack that lets cylinders dry mouth-down.

Glass lasts when residue does not dry on. Lab detergent, warm water, and a brush that fits the neck will clear most prep work. Rinse until the water sheets instead of beading. Beads mean soap or oil is still there.

Retire a chipped rim

A chip is a cut hazard and a crack waiting for heat. Strong base left sitting in a volumetric flask will etch the line over time. If a piece held something your procedure treats as hazardous, follow that procedure for the wash.

Dry cylinders mouth-down so dust stays out of the bore.
